How it works –
EV with Larger Battery?
Often EV owners complain that they can’t achieve a full charge for their vehicles during this quite high off peak 7hr period – other suppliers have shorter periods of even 5hrs. This is becoming an increasing problem for “Home charging” with newer model EVs’ now having larger Batteries for longer range.
The Problem is considerably further increased by the fact that most Home EV chargers can only charge at a rate of 7.4kW / hr. – this means that using these normal one direction chargers for up to 7hrs you can only increase your battery by a maximum of 51.8 kWhr. Some EV’s now have battery capacity of 118 kWh !! Many more with 60 to 80 kWhr batteries.

V2X EVDC bidirectional charger -
With our V2X bidirectional DC charger you can charge your EV at a maximum rate of 25 kW/hr.( dependant on customer survey and system design ) That’s THREE and a HALF times faster – yes 3.5 x faster than the normal Home AC charger.
This means that it could deliver in the same 7hr period in theory 7hrs x 25 being *175 kWhr. For a 118kWhr battery EV this is far more than enough.
*So to charge that 51.8 kWhr of EV battery ( the maximum a normal home AC charger can deliver in a 7hr period ) would take just *2hrs 5 minutes with our V2X charger – WOW!
As the charger is an integral part of the V2X solution it is V.A.T. rated 0%. A normal domestic 7.4 kWhr A.C. charger is V.A.T. rated 20%.
For clarity – all domestic electricity provided by your Electricity supplier is charged at V.A.T. rated 5%. All electricity supplied at Public EV charging points is charged at V.A.T. rated 20%.

With your EV plugged in – this emergency power backup can be extended for upwards of *11 to 14 or more days – even longer if you are careful with what you use at that end period. WOW!
ZERO Rated V.A.T.
As the V2X charger is installed as an integral part of a battery storage system – the whole V2X Solution continues to be V.A.T. rate of 0%. A stand alone charger will attract 20% V.A.T.
V2L – Vehicle to Load
Now the V2X Solution so far to power your home, sell power to the grid, and as an emergency backup power source is reliant on the fact that your EV is capable of V2H and V2G using the CCS2 charging port on your vehicle.
Should your EV only have V2L capabilities – examples being one of the MG EV range of models, some Volvo models, Kia models, Polestar models etc. we can still provide these same functions but at a much reduced rate of discharge back to the Home, or Grid or in an emergency, using your normal Type 2 AC charging port on your vehicle.
Many owners of V2L capable EVs’ will tell you that their vehicles can power their homes already – meaning they can plug domestic appliances into them such as kettles, toasters, microwaves TVs, computers etc.
However – be aware that using these appliances rely solely on being able to plug them into their EVs V2L extension cable socket.
They will not be able to use things like the lights, central heating – anything else in their homes other than items with a 13 amp plug on the end of it.
Our V2X Solution enables these same EV owners to have just ONE 13 amp or 16 amp plug on the end of their V2L extension cable. They will in fact be able to use EVERYTHING in their home as if the power had not failed. Meaning central heating, all lighting, sockets, fridges, freezers, security systems etc. limited however by the output rating of their EV’s on board AC inverter – for example the M.G. range has a 3.3kW V2L output, the Hyundai IconiQ 5 and Kia both have 3.6kW outputs.
Your V2L will connect seamlessly into our V2X system.
Future support of the Public Grid system
Not only can your V2X solution provide V2H (powering your home) it can in fact support the Grid! In this mode it is known by the term V2G (Vehicle to Grid). If you have Solar -your actually providing modest support now when your exporting and selling your excess Solar power to the grid.
However – There are proposals being promoted whereby EV owners will in the Future as a large group have the opportunity to participate in providing power to the grid at times of extremely high demand ( more likely in Winter months ) – basically providing power from your large EV POWER STORAGE with a V2X solution to your neighbours and the wider community. This of course would not only come with the satisfaction of “doing your bit” it would also come with the potential of substantial financial gain! As your reward.
